Brief Bio: I am a graduate of Georgetown University where I was a five-time All-American. I am currently a fourth-year medical student at Georgetown living in DC while training with the Reebok Enclave. I have qualified and competed in six of the last seven USAT&F meets in the 1500m. I have made the 1500m final in four of those meets and placed eighth in the Olympic Trials 1500m in 1996 and fifth in 1997. I also represented the U.S. in the 1997 World University Games in Italy.

Questions:

1.  What are some of your goals for the upcoming year?

My goals are to set personal bests in the 800 and 1500m and to make the final of the Olympic Trials 1500m.

2.  What are some of your plans for the upcoming year to reach those goals?

My plans are to stay consistent and focused with my mileage and training intensity.

3.  What is(are) your favorite workout(s)?

My favorite workout is a repeat 200m workout with minimal recovery. It requires a perfect mixture of strength and speed.

4.  What factors do you attribute to your success?

I feel that my consistency and flexibility are the keys to my success. I am consistent with my training and flexible enough to successfully deal with the ups and downs of this sport.

5.  What is your training philosophy?

I like to think that I train with a smart yet tough attitude. I feel that I understand how physically and mentally demanding a year of cross country, indoor track and outdoor track can be. I train to be ready when it really matters.

6.  Do you have any advice that may help other runners reach their potential?

My main advice would be to stay consistent. Running is a tough sport and it requires discipline and toughness. You must be tough enough to train hard week in and week out, but be disciplined enough to not overdo it.
