Questions:

1. What are some of your goals for the upcoming year?

Running a fast 5k, qualifying for the 1500m final at the Olympic trials.

2. What are some of your plans for the upcoming year to reach those goals?

I've gradually increased my mileage and intensity this fall in order to help make the jump into post-collegiate running. My main goal is to be able to handle the workouts while remaining healthy.

3. What is your favorite workout(s)?

I love intense workouts in the late spring when everyone's really fit and the weather is finally warm.  I also love long Sunday runs with a small group of my favorite training partners.

4. What factors do you attribute to your success?

I think it's the perfect combination of Peter Tegan's (her coach) wisdom and the wonderful people I'm able to train with. I guess self motivation and a genuine love for the sport play a role.

5. What is your training philosophy?

We emphasize intensity more so than volume. Even our "off" day runs we try to keep relatively quick. We do a lot of short, fast intervals with minimal recovery combined with longer time trials.

6. Do you have any advice that may help other runners reach their potential?

Be consistant with your training but be cautious, listen to your body.
