Questions:

1. What are some of your goals for the upcoming year?

To stay healthy through to the Olympic trials and Olympics. Once that is achieved (hopefully), to make the British Olympic team and then the finals at the Olympics.

2. What are some of your plans for the upcoming year to reach those goals?

I plan to go to Europe for January and February partly to escape the Wisconsin winter but also to race cross country races. Then come back to Wisconsin at the end of February to train through to the summer.

3. What is your favourite workout(s)?

I have a lot of different workouts that I like. Everything from 200+300 interval training to tempo runs. When I'm really fit, I like doing workout that have 3-5 intervals of 800m-2000m run at just faster than race pace.

4. What factors do you attribute to your success?

Good coaching, consistent training and hard work.

5. What is your training philosophy?

Train really hard but make sure not to overdo it.

6. Do you have any advice that may help other runners reach their potential?

Listen to your body, little niggles can turn into injuries or be an indication that you're overdoing it. When you have a typical long-distance runner's personality it's easy to overtrain.
